Born in Shenyang, China, Yuefeng Liu commenced her piano journey at the age of five. She furthered her musical education at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Minghui Lee and Quming Zhang. During this period, she achieved acclaim as a prize-winner in competitions across Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Shenyang, and the St. Andrews International Piano Festival in Canada. Currently pursuing a third-year DMA in piano performance at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, Missouri, under the guidance of Dr. Thomas Rosenkranz, Yuefeng's musical journey has been marked by numerous accolades. Notably, during her freshman year at Bowling Green State University, she secured victory in the Annual Competition in Music Performance (concerto competition), leading to a performance with the BGSU Philharmonia. She also earned accolades for her participation in Bravo BG on April 1st, garnering praise from fundraisers and the dean of the College of Musical Arts. In the summer of 2017, she was invited to present a recital at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music in China. Her achievements include winning the Conrad Art Song Competition in February 2018 and receiving Honorable Mention in the OH MTNA Young Artist Piano Performance Competition in October 2018. In February 2019, she participated in the AMERI CHINA International New York Winter Piano Festival, where she received instruction from faculty members of The Juilliard School and Curtis Institute of Music. Notable accomplishments include being named Alternate in the OH MTNA Young Artist Piano Performance Competition in October 2020 and securing Third Prize in the OH Grave Piano Competition in March 2021. She continued her winning streak by claiming First Prize in the Missouri MTNA Young Artist Piano Performance Competition in November 2021. Her international presence also includes achieving Third Prize in the IPPA Conero International Piano Competition in July 2022 and emerging as the First Prize winner in the Caneres International Music Competition Vienna in October 2022. In December 2022, she clinched First Prize in the Piano Master B category at the Online International Clara Schumann Competition. Her success continued with an honorable mention in the APS Music Competition in St. Louis in March 2023, and she embarked on a concert tour, including master classes in Shanghai, Chengdu, Shenyang, and Jilin, China, in June 2023.
